Abba

Hold me
Close; one with your chest
Far from distractions that rob me of rest

Hold me
Tight, warm in your strength
Loose burdens that cause me anxiety at length

Hold me
Long let the world pass me by
Short is my patience in it’s supply

Hold me
Fast, safe, secure from alarms
Slow my breath in your everlasting arms

Hold me
Back from worldly things
Front of my mind place your will and blessings

Hold me
Father, allow me to be
Child, desperate, insufficient, in need

Hold me
I cry, as if you are not
You whisper, ‘I AM, I haven’t forgot’

Hold me
You have, you are, always will
I only need know you are God, and be still-

While you hold me.
