Beautiful
I don’t have the words to articulate
But let me compare, perhaps some can relate:
When I look at the stars, or sunset red skies
I imagine, you’re letting me look in your eyes
I’m lost in the moment, in love, not in time
Knowing nothing but rest I’m yours and you’re mine
When I leap, off the cliff, suspended, excited
Afraid, but at peace, because you invited
Me out, further in, to the risk the pursuit
These moments of romance show that all else is moot
My first love, my heart is captured, pulled on
I want you, no one else, all logic is gone
Intoxicated, I breathe you in, you’re life’s scent
We’re so close, so entwined, your pleasure, my intent
To chase you down, I’d leave all behind
To capture your heart, I’d lose touch with my mind
To know you, see you fully unveiled
I’d wait, all my life, till my flesh and bones fail
Your smile, the dawn, as the light cracks the dark
I imagine, the corners of your lips begin to arc,
‘Good morning beloved’ I hear on the breeze
I smile. I wake. See you with me. And breathe...
Behind your smile in your eyes I see more…
You want to show me something I’ve not seen before;
“Let’s go!” you say excited for the day
‘Where?’ I laugh, not sure what else to say
‘Follow me’ you begin to take off through the trees
Into wild, uncharted territories
You speak again, I can hear but not see,
A whisper that echoes from mountain to valley
Across, forests, and glaciers and plains…
“Come and get me…”
